The right arm opens the door to hearts in the Quezon province of the Philippines.

Attendees in the Meetings

On March 23 to 28, 2015, a series of evangelistic meetings were held near the new property of the Philippine Union headquarters, and on the current property of the Missionary School in the city of Cabatang, Tiaong, Quezon. This was the very first time an actual outreach was held in that area.

Attendees

Due to the fact that the church also runs an elementary school from grades K-5 on the property (now approved for K-6), many of the parents of the enrolled children came to see what we were all about.  This resulted in many visitors attending our meetings every single evening. We spoke about faith, confession, the work of the Holy Spirit in the heart, does it really matter which day of the week we worship on, the Bible recipe for stress relief, and the fact that it is easier to be saved than lost. The meetings were interspersed over a-5-night period. Brother Peter Cay-ohen was present to translate for most of the meetings; and of course, we would have been incomplete without the various special items that were presented during the meetings.

Another reason that brought the visitors together each evening was that before and after the evangelistic meetings were conducted, health treatments, evaluations and seminars were conducted. So every day at 5:00 p.m. the brethren would open for registration.

Registration

Then those who register would receive a health check with a general consultation and a blood pressure check. Then they would be in line to receive a more thorough health evaluation by those who were familiar with naturopathy.

Some would then be given herbs for what they needed and some would receive various types of massage treatments. Then at 7:00 p.m. all those activities would stop and the evangelistic side of the meetings would begin.  At 8:15 p.m., the health presentation would be held.  Each evening a different speaker on the subject of health would participate. When the health presentation was over, gifts were distributed which included some of the special herbal remedies that were discussed during the meetings. As a result, many stayed from the very beginning to the very end.

Health Gift

Each evening during the spiritual part of the meetings, an appeal was made at the end of the program. After the appeal, we would greet the ones that came forward and to each was given a book to take home and read.  All this resulted in many coming forward to ask for special prayers, especially when we talked about conversion and Sabbathkeeping.

Appeal

Although the program was only held in the evenings, on Sabbath morning many came to attend the Sabbath services for the very first time. Some of them promised that they would come the very next Sabbath to begin worshipping on the Sabbath. On the last evening, an appeal was made for all to begin studying their Bibles and about 50 of them came forward to ask for prayer to have the courage to read their Bible all the way through and on a regular basis.
