In an effort to promote good health within the community, the San Bernardino Church teamed up with the Beaumont Church to do a presentation on how to live a healthier life. The "Wake up to Wellness" seminar was presented at the Community Center Hall in San Bernardino, California.
The speaker for the afternoon was Liliane Balbach (Registered Dietitian). The seminar started with a lecture providing key information on how to decrease risk of heart disease and increase life expectancy by 10 years. The last part of the lecture focused on different strategies to maintain a healthful weight in order to maintain a healthy mind and body.
The second part of the seminar was led by Josué Castañeda (Vegan Chef) with a cooking demonstration. Chef Castañeda was pleased to introduce a three-course vegan dinner starting with Tomato Basil Soup. The soup was followed by Spring Mix Salad with Quinoa. And the main dish was Potatoes au Gratin with Cashew Cream. All the dishes were prepared without adding any oil. We were blessed to have an audience of around 30 people. Maythe Lord help us to share His love and reach out to more people from our community through the health message!
